Logics
What is being measured?
Logics is a classical speed test assessing multiple cognitive abilities and GMA (general mental ability). It helps to identify people's individual strengths and see how they match a particular job. The assessment consists of 80 items to be completed within 30 minutes. The respondent is free to navigate, answer, and skip tasks as they prefer. There is no time limit on the individual items. However, time spent on the different kinds of items is tracked and displayed in the results.
When to use it?
Logics is suitable for people aged 18 to 70. It can be used to select employees for a wide variety of occupations and industries. However, Logics is especially useful for specialist and management positions with medium to high complexity. While primarily designed for recruitment, Logics can also support development, onboarding, and succession planning. However, Logics must never be used for any clinical or diagnostic purposes. The test can be administered online without supervision.
Why use it?
Cognitive tests are widely recognised as the best predictors of job performance and workplace success. Unlike other cognitive tests in our portofolio, Logics measures both GMA and more specific abilities such as vebal or numerical skills. The parameters included in Logics thus provide a very broad assessment of intelligence according to many years of international research. The test also provides detailed information about a person’s learning capability, efficiency, and decision-making style, which makes Logics particularly relevant in a business context.
How to use it?
Logics is a normative test, which means that the test result is compared to a relevant norm group. The norm group for Logics consists of people from all over the world who completed the test in a high-stake situation. All age groups and education levels were included, and men and women are equally represented.
As opposed to power or adaptive tests, Logics is a classical speed test. This means that rather than having increasingly difficult questions, the person is challenged to complete as many tasks as possible within a short time limit.
In addition to an overall GMA score (Cognitive Capacity), Logics provides detailed scores for 8 additional parameters. These include the percentage of correct, incorrect, and skipped answers, as well as average response speed. This information is provided for all the different subcomponents, thus highlighting an individual’s strengths and weaknesses.
Please note that dyslexia and dyscalculia are likely to affect a person’s performance on the test. This because Logics includes a large number or both verbal and numerical tasks.
