Potential scores

Potential scores are part of an add-on and need to be activated for your organisation.

Potential scores can be acessed in the Compare Candidate(s) page. These scores are based on the Personality (MAP) and General Mental Ability (Matrigma) data. This is the same data that is used for the Match score, but with an important difference. The Match score is a much better indicator of job-fit than potential because it is based on both the assessment data and the selected lens, thus fitting to the job. Potential scores are only based on the assessment data and do not represent a match with the job. A high potential score may actually mean a lower match to the job.

Assessio advises to use the Match scores to investigate person-job fit. Only use potential scores for further analysis.

The potential scores are normative, meaning the score on each scale is a relative indication on where the Candidate is compared to other people, or to what is "normal". After taking the assessments, Candidates receive a score between 0-10.

  • 0 - 3 are considered lower than average.

  • 3 - 7 are considered average.

  • 7 - 10 are considered higher than average

Higher than average does not mean "better" and lower than average does not mean "worse".

The scores indicate relative behavioral tendencies in an individual. If you are for example high on Agreeableness it is likely that you will be perceived as more trusting, warm, caring and supportive towards others compared to someone low on this scale. It does not mean someone with a low score can't behave in a trusting, warm and supportive way. It only means someone with a high score is more likely to behave that way. You can see the behaviours associated with lower and higher scores on all potential scales below. The first five scales are measured using MAP and related to the Big Five model of personality, the sixth scale is measured using Matrigma and related to General Mental Ability.
