Personality questionnaires
Personality traits are the characteristics which make each person unique. Our personality questionnaires sketch a picture of a person's personality, and describe how someone typically acts and interacts across different situations over time. We have 5 different options for you to use:
Personality (QPN)
QPN is one of our most used, COTAN-certified instruments. It outlines a personality profile that can be used in both selection and development situations. It focuses on a persons' talents and traits.
- Measures 5 characteristics, 20 talents
- The Big Five as a basis (same model as QPI)
- Reports the person's top 3 talents, or traits, or leadership roles
- Normative questions (possible answers: no!, no, ?, yes, yes!)
- Takes ± 20 min.
Personality (QPI)
QPI has an ipsative (forced choice) format, and is mostly used for development situations.
- Measures 5 characteristics, 20 talents
- The Big Five as a basis (same model as QPN)
- Reports the person's top 3 talents
- Each question consists of 2 statements (ipsative questions)
- Takes ± 10 min.
Personality (MAP)
MAP is one of our most used, DNV-certified instruments. It outlines a personality profile that can be used in both selection and development situations. It focuses is on a persons' competencies and traits.
- Measures 5 (+ 20) traits
- Based on the Five Factor Model (Same as MAP Essence)
- Comprehensive reports
- Standardised scores
- Takes ± 20 mins.
Personality (MAP Essence)
Map Essence is a shortened version of MAP, ideal for screening and (pre)selection purposes.

- Measures the Five Factor Personality traits (no subscales)
- Optimized for screening and managing volume
- Two screening lenses: Integrity and Service
- Takes ± 10 minutes
Personality (MAP X)
Map X provides additional insight, based on MAP, focusing on the risks of extreme behavior.
